Embrace the New
At a time when there’s no shortage of Nineties musical comebacks, Embrace the New is a feature length documentary exploring how older artists remain relevant and compete creatively with the new leading lights of pop.
The music industry historically has always been youth driven. In modern society it’s generally accepted that creative edge diminishes with age, new music is continually defined by reality TV shows like X-Factor and Madonna has levelled ageism claims at BBC Radio 1.
Yet, indie rock giant Noel Gallagher (who we are in talks with to contribute) is being seen to produce the most fresh and creative work of his career with 2017’s No.1 selling album ‘Who Built the Moon’ and Shaun Ryder’s new Black Grape album and tours with Happy Mondays are receiving widespread critical acclaim.
Produced by legendary Haçienda DJ Graeme Park and award winning documentary director Glenn Hanstock, the response to the project has been extremely strong allowing us to produce the 2min taster that perfectly frames our creative vision with: Johnny Marr, Shaun Ryder, Peter Hook, Clint Boon, Mike Pickering, Rowetta and legendary Chicago house DJ Marshall Jefferson already on board as contributors.
