Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Road Safety Video

An Electrobank Media Film

The Concept

Commissioned and scripted by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service as one of five youth awareness films, Chequered Flag needed to be a hard hitting short film, which used the age-old ‘boy needs to impress girl’ story line to address the issues of negative peer pressure and incidents of anti-social behaviour associated with motorcycle misuse.

Our Approach

Coming to the project just two weeks before principle shooting commenced we attended pre-production meetings with the Rescue Services’ Youth engagement team, taking production lead we workedshopped the script with young Liverpool actors casting all the major roles. During the 5-day shoot we provided all crew, equipment, shot footage on a mixture of cameras including remotely mounted mini HD cameras to capture the climatic high-speed motorcycle race and filmed scenes requiring pyrotechnics and the co-operation of the Staffordshire Police Force.

Shot at multiple locations in Staffordshire including a disused Air force base Chequered Flag, was launched at Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre on 1 August 2013 and subsequently screened in schools, colleges, youth centres, Youth Offending Service sessions and trainee motorcycle rider courses.

You have the stories; we bring the best out of them.

Passion In Every Frame

Glenn was Director of Photography on our movie and has a superb eye for the shot. He is the consummate professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for other projects.
